About us

Through expert guidance, networking and access to essential resources, DriftEA creates a thriving environment where ideas become reality and innovation gets the support it needs to flourish. We focus on creating new pillars for the economy and building attractive, exciting opportunities for future generations who want to live in North Iceland.

The aim is for the organisation to support the growth of strong, viable businesses in the region.

What?

Create a hub for entrepreneurship and innovation in North Iceland.

How?

By building and leveraging networks, securing funding, and offering advice to bring new ideas and opportunities to life.

Why?

The goal is to create attractive and exciting opportunities for future generations in North Iceland.

Sesselja Ingibjörg Barðdal Reynisdóttir is the Managing Director of Drift EA. An experienced executive, angel investor and entrepreneur, she is passionate about building a leading community for innovation and entrepreneurship in North Iceland.

Kristján Þór Júlíusson is chairman of Drift EA and has extensive experience in business, public administration and politics. He has a strong network and is convinced that innovation will take society to the next level.

Drift EA’s goal is to provide excellent services to entrepreneurs in Iceland and lead the way in strengthening support and sharpening the vision for projects aligned with the company’s priorities.

The approach is to tailor support for a set period of time to the needs of each team and work closely with the entrepreneurs. Participants are not expected to rush the process; instead, they are encouraged to take the time to develop, test and continue working on their idea.

Drift EA will pave the way for entrepreneurs and leverage the momentum of a thriving company to empower, train and support them as they grow. This will strengthen the innovation ecosystem and make Drift EA a major draw for Akureyri, Eyjafjörður and all of North Iceland.
