Terramar ehf. is a technology company in Akureyri developing cost-effective water reuse equipment for land-based aquaculture. Its goal is to improve water quality and reduce the capital and operating costs of land-based aquaculture businesses. The prototype indicates significant cost savings from water reuse. The project has received a grant from the Technology Development Fund and is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Iceland at Hólar and other partners.
The project is led by Alfreð Steinmar Hjaltason, CEO, and Jón Ólafur Jónsson, CTO.
