Vaxandi byggð is developing a community-focused village at Hesjuvellir, with an emphasis on sustainability, diverse housing and strong connections between residents. The aim is to enable individuals and families to adapt their housing to their changing needs without leaving their community. The project explores how homes of different sizes and types, shared facilities and phased development can contribute to more affordable housing, better use of resources and more opportunities to put down roots.
The project is being carried out by Ísak Már Jóhannesson, Karen Mist Kristjánsdóttir, Helga Björg Jónasardóttir and Jóhannes Már Jóhannesson
